Uni work
Low-Fi prototype
Running app
Duration: 5 weeks
Type of work: Individual work
Areas: UI design, usability testing
This project involved the transformation of a paper prototype of a running app into an interactive Figma prototype. It included the placement of features on the screens, the selection of a suitable colour palette and fonts, and the design of the user interface.
Project description
The aim of this project was to realise a low-fi prototype of the running app from a paper prototype to a low-fi prototype. Subsequently, this low-fi prototype was also to be tested with a usability test with real users. The focus was on the placement of the individual functions and features on the corresponding screens.
Goals
1. Documentation of the prototyping process
Recording the development process from paper prototype to Figma prototype.
Recording the decisions and challenges during the process.
2. Creation of a low-fi prototype of the running app
Placing the individual functions and features on the corresponding screens according to the paper prototype.
Step-by-step implementation of the prototype according to the defined functions.
3. Design customisation
Selection of a suitable colour palette, font and font size for the Figma prototype.
Design of the individual screens according to the requirements and the desired user experience.
4. Interactive design of the prototype
Implementing click functionalities to make the prototype usable for user testing.
Ensuring that all functions and features in the prototype are functional.
5. Usability testing
Planning and conducting of a usability test with potential users.
Collecting feedback and suggestions for improvement to optimise the prototype.
Iterative adaptation of the prototype based on the test results.
