Assessment of the website of Information Design (B.A.).
This course teaches the central methods of Human-Centered Design.
We as students should evaluate the quality of the website of our study programme. Target audience was parents of people who are interested in studying.
This includes formative usability testing as a central method of Human-Centered Design. It is widely used as a formative evaluation method in conjunction with Loud Thinking and is one of the standard methods in Human-Centered Design.

Project description

The goal was to optimise the user experience on the website by specifically improving the content, interactions and other elements based on the needs and requirements of the target group "parents".

Goals

1. Context of use analysis / expert evaluation
2. Determination of the evaluation goals
3. Getting to know, selecting and applying different test methods
4. Design of test tasks and test scenarios
5. Creation of an overall test concept
6. Organization of test sessions
7. Cooperative communication, (retrospective) thinking aloud
8. Observation and logging
9. Evaluation and identification of usage problems
10. Writing a report of the results
11. Convincing presentation of results

Process

  • Carrying out all phases of the project together with the team

  • Taking responsibility for team and implementing Scrum

  • Carrying out research methods such as interviews, surveys and user observations

  • Developing a deep understanding of the needs, preferences and behaviours of the target group + creating a persona
